bombyx silk and linen fingering weight 2 ply undyed yarn, natural ivory. 16/4 65% silk/35% linen.
This yarn has a high silk content, so its drape is soft rather than crisp. Also, this is a different yarn from my other silk/linen. The other one is made with silk noil, has a drier hand, and is a slightly heavier weight; this one is made with top quality spun/bombyx silk, is more tightly spun, and is a true fingering weight. It has a high silk content, so its drape is soft rather than crisp. It will get softer with washing (yes, you can machine wash!) When dyed with acid dyes, the linen "tints" rather than being dyed, so the result is an elegant heathered color.
And between you and me, it is the same yarn base used by a well known luxury hand dyer :)
Crisp linen with the drape of silk.......softens with wear and lasts for ages.
