This is a beautiful natural off white 4 ply mulberry silk noil yarn and is a sport/ DK weight yarn. Silk noil (also called raw silk, bourette silk, and tsumugi silk) is one of our absolute favorite fabrics—it has a beautiful drape, wonderful nubby texture, and is easy to care for. It is made from the shorter fibers that are leftover from the manufacture of other silk fabrics. It is not as shiny as spun silk, but it is stronger and has a better handle than cotton.
Perfect for clothing, scarves and artwork. This yarn has a wonderful mild texture and is strong enough for warp and weft. Dyes beautifully.
